When I saw TWC for the first time I thought "sweet a harry potter a game I love harry potter!" When I logged in it was awesome and I couldn't wait to attend my next class. The longer I played I was disappointing as it started to feel less and less a harry potter game and more just like a bunch of things from the harry potter world clumped together with no real grasp on the magical world.
I propose we change that within the next year. We can cut away all the meh things in the game and replace it with something more magical and give it a more Harry Potter feel.
Lets look at a popular game like Skyrim for example. Why do people play hours and hours of this game? Well I believe it to be the little things, like all the stuff you can do that have nothing  to do with the main story what so ever, but are fun and maybe make you stronger or unique. I'll cut to the point.

Spells are a strong thing in the wizarding world, yet there are so many good ones from the books/movies that we don't see here. Some of them do not so much but are good fun to use, so why not add them anyway and let the players decide if its worth it. I'm sad that the ideas for spells to have an effect/effects died down. I'd like to see all sorts of colors and flashes from different spells wiz past me when there's a battle or duel going on. Ex. Glacius having a change to slow player down. Inflamari having a chance to cause a burn effect that does damage over time. If that was the case I'd use inflamari more often to get that dot applied because it may win me the duel. Lastly spell customization, maybe I could icon different variations for the spells so players could pay a man in a hood to switch out the look so its more unique to them.

Environment is a huge importance to any games success, if the area around you isn't intractable then there's no reason to be in that area. Why not of goblets the players can light with fire spells, or put out with others. Why not add more paintings and decor to liven the place up. Food that you can interact with and maybe get a fell fed buff or food poisoning or other random effects. More passages and secrets to uncover. A bigger world all together(a change that would make more sense if more players began to play). I'd like to see more variations for walls and floors through out the school. When I first came up to hogwarts It wasn't quite the jaw dropping moment due to pure amazement like in the movies or described in the books. It does look a whole lot better however that it use too.

more ideas to come, I'd like to know how much of this is viable/worth it, but id just like more harry potter in my harry potter game.

You need a little bit of insanity to do great things.

I love these ideas, but chances are someone's going to argue "Oh that's not how TWC was back in my day" or "adding this style of combat makes TWC less competitive".

That's what happened when Rotem added incindia.

Overall I'm definitely for some of these changes like the inflamari spell, and the spell customization spell that was said.
They seem like a good step into making both spells and the player feel more unique.

I think the idea of making TWC into a sort of Skyrim type game is great, however it would still receive horrible reception as Harry Potter isn't as popular as it used to be.

TWC needs to become a game about magic and wizards, rather than Hogwarts and spells from the books/movies.

I don't want it like skyrim, I want it to have endless things to do like skyrim. A hard feat but possible. If not harry Potter based, then why name it harry potter at all?

On the contrary, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them comes out next year and several Harry Potter fan pages are thriving in the millions.

The greatest half way mark would be to create a wizards game of generic content (not HP orientated) in a HP universe.

I love the ideas presented in this post.

I agree. Being original allows TWC to get its name out there and properly advertise without being in breach of any copyright.

Rotem

I've previously discussed at length several topics in this suggestion, in fact there's some related changes that were already done in TWC but are magically ignored.

I love the ideas presented in this post.
Please list the ideas, separate them into topics and begin developing each and every idea otherwise they'll remain a pinch of salt at the tip of a spoon never breathing life to anything new in TWC.

Something to note, when I stare at the post, I don't see anything that makes me react with 'Great ideas', because they've all been discussed previously, each and every single one he pointed out. So please, do me the favor of properly developing the idea instead of just clapping at it with great and very useless admiration.

Also, as you go along with it, visualize the idea in your head, how you think it should look like in game, please go by standards as high as Skyrim's and even higher, not standards of HaH or other BYOND games, real game standards, now ask yourself whether it'll work within TWC and if not, how can we make it work. Ask yourself if it requires any art resources that I can't possibly do on my own, if you can do it, provide it, just as you visualized it.

Making sure it has purpose is also a requirement, torches aren't very helpful without inventing light and darkness (which we most likely won't do any time soon). Glacius can't give anyone a slow effect because if you've ever played a BYOND game that slows you down you know how so horrible and drastic that is, this isn't pixel movement or a 3D game, it's a tile based 10 FPS 2D game that can't possibly take in slowdowns as a main part of pvp but we definitely discussed that one.

Lastly, if there are things that need to be removed, point them out, generally saying, let's cut the crap is not enough.

Rotem's right, when you don't mention reasons and things like that, it doesn't help the ideas at all to make a mountain of actually being considered great. Atleast that's how I look at it. No one is a mind reader here. No one really can understand what you mean by what is crap and what isn't. Or what in the post was an actual good idea without details and reasons.

Didn't we already take out the Harry Potter part? I mean, it's not there when you're logged in and you would've normally seen the name on the top part of the window itself. Now it just says the last part, of TWC.
