Idea: In-game Audio Chat System

Description: A chat system were players can actually talk with a mic instead of typing all the time.
Also if the person you want to talk to isn't online we could make a voice mail feature, were you could leave an audio message/file.
We could also expand this to a video chat box, but i don't know if it is possible with the byond coding. This could also be a for announcements and other things. This could also be a unique feature that could bring in more players.

How it would work: their would be a whole new tab with list of "chat channels" that you could join and their would be an option to create a new one. Their would be an option to invite players into your "chat channel." You would also be able to block player you don't want to hear.

Ways we can expand this: We could add a video chat option. Also we could a whole are like a court yard looking area we you don't need to be in a "chat channel" to talk, all you have to do is walk in and toggle on or off Voice chat and you would be able to hear everybody and block people you don't want to listen to.

Ways this is helpful: This is another option of communication for players announcements. it would add another area on the map to make it bigger. In stead of typing all the time you could just to a friend or leave a message for them.

Well it's more convenient because it's right their while your playing the game and their maybe so people that don't have Skype.

This would be a good idea because not everyone has skype or other voice chat programs. It would be clever to integrate it into a game where everyone is close knit and almost always talking.

I think this is a great idea. Those without skype, or those who don't wish to use skype could just socialize vocally in-game. It's great!

The games that ive seen that have the vocal chat feature have had great success. One game that has it is DayZ. (not because the actual vocal chat system but it ads something great to the game.)

Ok let's think about this for a minute. In order for this to work someone would have to integrate a chat program that can work with the code in TWC (like TWC Radio/SAM Broadcaster) so you would need:

1.Someone who COULD do that.

2.Someone who WANTED to do that.

3.Someone who HAD TIME to do that.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea at all please don't get me wrong, and if it were to happen I would use it. But the programmers already work so hard on TWC that I just don't think this is something that needs to be looked into anytime soon because we already have plenty of other means of communication at our disposal. It honestly isn't hard to get on Skype and call some friends who are in-game, in fact just today I spent less than 5 minutes making a new Skype account because I forgot the password to my old one. And if you really don't like using Skype then why don't you set up a TeamSpeak with some friends?

Nope. Didn't see any use. People prefer skype.
