The idea is that one could lay down a trap and cast a certain type of spell into it (I was thinking targeting spells since they usually don't kill people, this would work by targeting the trap). Any unsuspecting victims that steps on it will then get that spell cast on them.

I was thinking that there could be two different types of traps which are based only on what they look like:

  • A Pentagram Trap - More obvious, can hold more dangerous spells.
  • Invisible Magical Force Trap - Invisible, this trap will not cast any dangerous spells

Dangerous spells in my definition means spells like:

  • Crucio
  • Furnunculus
  • Levicorpus
  • Immobulus

I also think these spells shouldn't be used AT ALL for the all traps:

  • Telendevour
  • Transfiguration Spells
  • Imitatus (because it wouldn't make sense)
  • Skill Spells
  • Replacio Duo

I think that the Pentagram traps should be a bit cheaper than the invisible traps.
