Suggestion for Clan administration/priviledges.

I would love to see different levels of access on some of the different privileges a clan leader can give. Example: have maybe 5 or 10 numerical levels. For any given privilege, clan members can only influence members of a higher number. The reason I chose higher number is it allows the clan heads to set their own (not really) infinitely granular level of access; clan Heads would be set to 0 on all things, the "highest" level of access.

Example:
Access levels for the Who-List: If you want to have a couple of spies that the rest of the clan doesn't know the existance of, you could set them all to level 1 on the who-list priv, which is second only to the clan Head. You wouldn't have to grant them access to view the list, but only people with level 1 or higher access could see them inside of the clan's who-list.

Firing a Clan Member: Having access levels on this would allow sub-groups to form where a sub-group's leader could fire anyone inside of their own group, but would be unable to fire any of their superiors in the clan due to having a lower access level than them.

Editing Clan Privileges: The way I see this one working is that someone give any of the privs that they have access to themselves, but can only set an access level for another person to their own access level minus 1. This prevents abuse by two people leapfrogging each other to higher priv levels.

Clan Store: For this one, I could see the access level going in reverse order, where the clan store only shows you the options that cost LESS than your clan level, otherwise I don't really think an access level would be appropriate for this part.

MOTD: Again, not really appropriate for access levels, kinda a Yes/no deal.

Another benefit that this could open up is allowing the Clan Head to edit their own rank, safely, since no one else with edit permissions could change the Clan Head's. This is a feature I'd reaaalllly love to have, because I'm currently implementing a new rank name system in my own clan.

Really like these ideas, Ian, especially for how the who-list is viewed. Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to implement either.

Maybe clans should do shit before they get shiny new toys.

Just a suggestion.

I think there should be more "privileges" to do if this were to be put in.
Ranks are already in the clan, so I don't see a reason for the numerical value unless the Head of the clan actually wants to take the time to watch their members and advance them to the next level of authority every few weeks or so.

More privileges could be...

Clan spells - The higher the clan member works up the ladder, the more clan spells he/she learn. (IF clan spells were implemented)
Different color robes - It could go one of two ways...
1.) Each rank offers a different robe.
2.) Once a certain rank is hit, that clan member can choose from a multiple array of robes.
MotD - Maybe there could be certain parts of the clans MotD that only certain members could see..?
Rooms - There could be a few new rooms in the clan headquarters that can only be accessed by a certain rank.

That's all I can think of right now. I like the idea of administrating privileges to other clan members, but ranks are already put in the game, so why not just edit that a little bit?

I think this idea is nice and useful as it allows more control over monitoring your clan and expanding the system and what not.

But right now we don't really have that many members inside clans so perhaps it'd be nice to focus on things that encourage hiring new members, a bit more restrictions such as viewing clan chat or viewing motd and even access to clan HQ doors.

I think the main reason people don't get hired in clans easily are doors, motd and chat channel, those are 3 things that you risk when hiring a new member so if you remove the risk perhaps we will see more clan members and with that activity.

We can start with the simple things and move forward.
