My Ideas:

1. Vomiting Potion - Makes the drinker vomit.....a lot. Good for pranks. Has a yellowish-greenish color to it.

2. Self-Binding Potion - Makes the drinker get coiled and stuck for 1 minute. Good keeping enemies at bay (that is if they don't have Reducto). Has a greyish-silver color to it.

3. Madness Potion - Makes the drinker go crazy and attack anything that's in it's way. Drinker will shoot random spells at random places. Has a purpleish-brown color to it.

4. Amnesiac Potion - Makes the drinker say random sayings said before by other players.

5.Flagrate Potion [Color] - Will change the user's Flagrate a different color. Duration of the potion will be permanent until changed. Color of the flagrate potion, ex. blue, yellow, orange (resets), red, green, purple, etc.

6. Hearing Potion - Only potion that can be drunken 2 times, is recommended for 2 people. 1st time will give the drinker slightly larger ears which will allow them to hear whoever takes the same potion the second time. The potion will last for (x) amount of time once the second portion of the potion has been drunken. Has a Tannish-Brown color to it.

Basically this will be a potion which can be useful in spying, you take the first dose of the potion giving you the hearing ability in which your "friend" takes the second dose of the potion. Allowing you to hear whatever your friend hears.

7. Dream Potion? (Thought of this since we have a dream island) - Let's the drinker see fake "cool" loot, or an image of being an awesome Quidditch star, or something making them feel awesome and special, etc. Lasts (x) amount of time. The color is blue, has sparkles and stars in it.

8. Nightmare Potion - Gives the drinker a horrible nightmare of enemies, their loot getting stolen, makes the drinker feel hopeless and lost, etc. Good for torture. Lasts (x) amount of time. The color is dark black with a few stars, maybe a ghoul pic on it.

9. Polyjuice Potion - To be talked about...

10. Food in a Potion....Potion - Basically this will spawn different foods in one tile to be picked up. Great for parties. Will either keep spawning food for (x) amount of time or a food limit will be used instead. Color is brown with a glob of orange, with some yellow mixed in.

11. (English to x) (x to English)  Language Translation Potion - We only have English alphabet symbols to work with, but we can still try to do this. I was thinking the potion would last for 5-10mins. This would be useful for people that speak another language. ONLY works in "say". For ex. the user types "Hello" this will be retyped as "Bonjour" and said in the say instead of saying Hello in the say. We could make this into multiple languages that have a close symbols to the English symbols. Also make sure to have a "Language" to English version so we can just give someone their "Languages Potion" to understand what they're saying. The icon is a potion with black words in different languages saying "Translation".

12. Clock Potion - Speeds time for the drinker and those around him/her (making him/her go faster and shoot faster). Lasts for 30secs. Has a time icon in the potion with a white (or grey) background.

13. Love Potion (Number 13!!!) - Makes the drinker fall in love with the first person they come in contact with (one tile away). Basically it will make them follow that one person for (x) amount of time during that time they will say random things like "I love you very much", or "Your hair sparkles like sunshine mist coming from the water", you get the idea. This would be good for kidnapping people if you slip this into their food or whatever (also an alternative to follow I guess). The person who took the potion would also see occasional hearts flying by. Good for valentine's day tricks. Icon is a pink heart in the center with a red background.

14. Writer's Potion - Makes the drinker write down everything they hear on a scroll that they have equipped. Icon is a pen with a grey background.

15. Sickness Potion - This will give the drinker their worse sickness they've ever had. Effects may include: Stiffness (Can't move), Blurry Vision to no Vision (kind of like Melofors), thoughts of suicide (5-10% chance of spells backfiring), nasal congestions (they can't talk well), and vomiting (vomiting). Good for pranks or kidnappings. Should be at a high price. Icon is a green slimy ball with a yellow background.

These are extra variations of potions where we mix an item from Green Man Shop with a Potion:

1. Clock Potion Slow (Smoke Pellet) - Basically a Clock Potion mixed with Smoke Pellet. This will slow time down for the drinker and those around him/her (making him/her go slower and shoot slower). Lasts 30secs. Has a time icon in the potion with a black background.

2. Nightmare Potion AoE (Swamp) - Basically a Nightmare Potion mixed with Instant Swamp. Will look like a regular swamp, but will have the Nightmare Potion affect added into it. So anyone who steps into the "swamp" will get a dose of Nightmare Potion. Icon is basically Nightmare Potion Icon with a "sticky/bubbly" look to it.

3. Dream Potion AoE (Swamp) - Basically a Dream Potion mixed with Instant Swamp. Will look like a regular swamp as said before, but it will have the affect of a Dream Potion added into it. So anyone who steps into the "swamp" will get a dose of Dream Potion. Icon is basically Dream Potion but with a "sticky/bubbly" look to it.

Glow = Not sure

Rotem

An interesting idea about using the potions.

You can drink them.
You can put them in a smoke pellet then throw them.

Perhaps even some sort of swamp and everyone who steps on it gets effected?

(Mixing joke shop items with potions so usage won't be just drinking)

Ash

I actually like this idea, including Rotems idea. I mean... who would be stupid enough to drink a self binding potion? x-D

Just came back from a trip so I'll be able to think (and add more) ideas. I'm glad that you approve guys  :D. It really gives me support (or at least makes me think I have support :P). I'll keep Rotem's idea into consideration too btw.

Ezekiel Fenix

From what little I remember in the Series, potions where primarily used for beneficial stuff for the user IE Pretend to be someone else or help grow back bones.

However the more 'offensive' potions required means of trickery to get the target to ingest them IE Cupcakes that have knockout juice, or Chocolates with Love Potion in them (Ohhh Romilda).

Anyways I think the basic idea was adding it to food which I think would be cool, if not impractical due to the lack of food usage that goes on now :/

which brings up a more important issue: HOW CAN I SURVIVE 8 YEARS OF SCHOOL AND NOT NEED TO EAT A SINGLE THING?!!!

Hunger Meter! Muahaha cuz that would just piss everyone off ^^

Skystone

Oh thanks, that helps a lot (completely forgot love potion). Awesome, keep of the communication.

Uhhh did someone edit my post?

Nope - it'd say "edited by [someone]" if it was.

You need to create a system alongside your potions idea. One that works flawlessly with the game, is complex enough to be challenging and feasible enough to work on TWC. You have to consider and come up with every aspect.

Where the items that go into the potions come from. Who drops them? Where do you buy them? What keeps the rare ingredients rare? Is it even plausible to have monsters dropping them with the TWC source?

How difficult it is to actually make the potion. Does it require a special mixing technique done by the user? A heat at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time? With the ingredients placed in at the correct time? What happens if a potion fails? Would the repercussions be damaging or could users just attempt to make a rare potion all day?

The potion itself. How would you get another user to drink something like a vomiting potion? Could you "pour" the potion into their mouth if you're near them? Disguise the potion and hope they trust you to drink it? How would this work?

There's a lot of other questions that could be listed here as well these are just ones off the top of my head.

I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with a system for all this in the past, others have as well. It's not easy, that's why we've never had a potions sytem. You can't just list potions with their effects and expect potions to be added. You need to create the entire system and get feedback from Murrawhip and other players to figure out if it's even possible.

@Lucifer, I think getting purchasable potions in the game would be the best first step. Since a creation system will take a while, I think planning and programming each potion to be purchasable would be the best option. After we've got a good set of potions in the game, then we could step up on a potions system and remove most if not all from shops.

I think there should be a max potion limit that you can have at once too. Including in the bank. Because we all knoooow Justin will buy thousands of them and then not have to make any if we ever got a creation system in place.
