Head of House

I don't know if we have this (I have never heard of it) but I would like to move to bring the Head of House to the Rolelplay world of TWC! Maybe it doesn't have to be official, but I think for the purposes of staying true to the Harry Potter format each House needs a Head. It is simply an idea that I devolped today. I would like to ask each GM and Admin to give me feedback on this idea and if they should be too busy to bother with it then at least give me permission to go ahead and move with this idea on my own. It can be done one of two ways. 1. The GMs, Teachers, and Admins could each discuss and choose likely candidates and vote on one accordingly. 2. Some time could be given for everyone in the TWC community to vote on a Head for their own House. However, when I think of either way this could go some problems arise. One concern is should the Head be a GM or Teacher, or could a run-of-the-mill student become a HoH? Please note: IF it were to become that students could become  HoH you would simply be recieving a Title and would NOT recieve GM or Admin position (unless you have it when picked.) "What does the Title HoH mean to me" you ask? HoH would be picked based upon your ability to lead others, candidates would have a strong sense of right and wrong and be someone that others from the house and newer students would be able to look upon for assistance. Now I will promote my idea to the TWC Staff and update according to their response.

HoH was in the game before and basically they moderated every channel including clan chats so we ended up having Aurors seeing everything said on DE channel. As long as it's nothing like that then I don't mind it. :D

I figured I wouldn't have been the first to think of it lol but yea like I said I don't think they need too many powers (if any) as it is mainly just a title that gives you a little bit of authority to keep misfit players in line as the TWC Staff is busy enough with Teaching and coordinating events. Plus they would be there to help newer and inexperienced students. Basically it would just be a title like "Daily Prophet Editor/Reporter" or "Radio Staff" (though we dont have an in game title for that yet)
OH! Speaking of Daily Prophet, id like to ask Tobi to do a story on this idea :D Think he would go for it?

I actually like this. Especially if the HoH's don't have any actual GM powers, save maybe point removal or GM summon? This would give the new players someone to go to in each House and the HoH would have a responsibility to new players in the House. It would also give the HoH some authority to curb some of the rule breakers and noobs.

My thoughts exactly Si. This is why it would be to advantage to put each nominee through screening so they didnt work to help their own house, treat everyone fairly.

Doesn't sound any different from when we had prefects.

Ultima Kage

I wasnt around when we had prefects, but when i think about it i suppose it doesnt seem like they would have much of a difference true. I just want this to be considered in honor of those who do alot for the new students in TWC, give them some recognition ya know?

We have those already. We call them GMs lol.

Nickcreed

Might aswell just bring back prefects, which wouldnt necessarily be bad, but it would mainly depend on the playerbase

Spitfire

Yeah pew pew, prefects! DO IT! Would be nice for new players to know that there is a head person who can always be of help to them and keep other students non bullshitting :3

Both ain't new but will do!

Ash

But if we had prefects the Player to Staff ratio would be weird. lol.

It's simple! More players = More fun!

@Justin: I know the GM's are pretty much what im describing, but what im trying to get across is that the GM's sometimes get too busy to want to add dealing with newbie players, so if there was someone of a lesser power but still had some rank higher than "Player" to deal with them, it would make TWC life a bit better for everyone :D
and
@Rotem: What would you say to helping me pitch the idea to the rest of the staff if we could make a somewhat recognizeable impact in the number of players?

Why does someone need a rank to be helpful to new players?

Ultima Kage

The thing, Murra, is that they would have the rank FOR helping new players. Thus giving them the ability to also deal with anoying players so that the GM's have more time to plan events or come up with scripts for a better RP class. Therefore everyone in TWC will be a little happier :D
sound logical?
