Webclient bugs

Making webclient TWC playable will benefit TWC greatly, to do that we first need to find what makes it unplayable.

Please reply here with any webclient issue, bug or missing feature in webclient. The goal is to have exact same experience in webclient as you have in dreamseeker.

Based on what you write I will then either change TWC or open bug report / feature request at byond forums. When reporting bugs please try to include as many details as possible so that I can reproduce it and properly report it.

Few things I've noticed so far: Game is not 100% "Clear" in visual. You can notice blurry-ness, Also, the "AFK" verb is not lined up properly.

Looking further: I've noticed.. a very big noticable map problem: http://puu.sh/kTEgV/23f67dc0da.jpg (There's other places with wall issues)

now I'm not sure if the slow movement is just on my end, but I'll just mention it anyway. I also notice the character "blinks" randomly.

I just read a book "once" to see if there was any issue and my character blinked. Though before reading it blinked once too. There's also no "Wear" verb. Even though I was able to draw my wand, I can't un-draw it.

I had my character near Rain in the library, and I got his spells, however when I walk away, they stay in my "Spells tab" but unusable. (I think everyone knew about this, but thought to bring it up)

Also Question? Is the "OOC" part meant to be blue on webclient?

There's a few view modes you can try, it might clear the blurry vision, I wouldn't even know whether that's a bug.

I don't understand what you mean by blinking, I did notice severe FPS drop problems, it's unplayable, walking is a chore but there's an ongoing topic about that at BYOND forums, at any case I could not find what you mean by blinking -- Scratch that, as I was writing this post I walked around webclient and my character disappeared and my game completely froze, it might be related to the fps issues.

It all seems like BYOND related bugs, below examples of bug reports I made from your reply, I can't possibly handle all the bug reports, if possible please report it directly to BYOND.

By "blinking" I mean disappearing for a quick moment and reappearing. However when I'm on the webclient I don't get any.. freezing, but I can't reproduce it forcefully by walking around so much. It seems to do it so random.

-I'm a lot more "laggy".

-All forms of chat have black text against a black background when typed (which sucks).

-I have a ton of unusable verbs in commands.

-Clicking on any of the links that appear when I log on crashes the webclient.

Note: When changing between web rendering modes, "2D Canvas" is best viewed in full screen. "WebGL (linear)" in my opinion is the best alternative when not in full screen.

Perhaps there could be exclusives on the webclient too, like the user could trigger a special event to happen only by using web client. This would encourage people to use the webclient, search for bugs, report them, and make it even better.

Whatever it is we plan to do with this feature, I just want to see the webclient get better so TWC becomes more accessible to people.

Title says webclient bugs because webclient is in beta and is full of bugs, if you wish to support webclient then please report all your bugs directly to byond forums, beta bugs category, that is the quickest most effective way to support webclient features.

Everything you mentioned and most likely every bug you will mention will be resolved within same day of it being reported by Lummox, if you're incapable of making a BYOND bug report I act as a midway.

Clicking on the spell book or quest book does absolutely nothing while on the web client.

We've upgraded to latest byond version, re-test the bugs and let me know if you find anything new and what is still there.

The only two bugs mentioned that appear to still remain in webclient are verb problems and fps issues which are known problems. (Some of the bugs are resolved in my local TWC version and a newer byond version build, we'll update at a later date)

We did good work! After we update feel free to continue looking for bugs or differences between webclient and dreamseeker.
