one was running last year at some point. just thought it would be cool to run again!

especially with a big player base right now!

THOUGHTS?

Rotem

It sucks, I hate it, please no.

From 50 playerbase, they'd pick /4/ players to play in the event and pretend it's a huge important event when only 4 players are actually playing in it.

If you do TWT, please fix it so it's actually more than 4 players.

Joshyyy

well yeah that's why its a suggestions board, so we can make it better!

what would make it better Rotem?

Rotem

Allowing more than 4 players to play.

Skystone

1/4 of the player base sounds good, I think.
I would like to see the tri-wizard tournament happen though either way.

Rotem

If there's 40 players on, only 10 will play?
What do the 30 others do?

I'd be more beneficial to think of an event for the 30, in my opinion.

Skystone

Perhaps a couple of those people in the thirty could play as some of the monsters, or the victims in the Tri event.

The Triwizard Tournament is supposed to be the biggest tournament of a lifetime. Each house is represented by one champion. Those champions are to compete in three dangerous tasks to prove who IS the best. I understand that it may be bit of a buzz kill when random nubs get picked from the Goblet of Fire, so that is why I think there should be a alternative on who gets to put their name in the Goblet. Since we have no way of actually picking the best students without being bias, I think there should be a prolonged series of events that lead up to the Triwizard tournament. An elimination tournament.

This elimination tournament can go 2 ways.
1. The TwT host would have brackets set up for people to sign up. Whoever completes the tournament and is the last 4 standing will be the final contestants to compete in the Triwizard tournament.
2. The TwT host would have brackets set up for people to sign up. Whoever is in the semi-finals, which would approximately be 8 people, will be permitted to put their names in the Goblet of Fire. The 4 out of 8 students chosen from the Goblet will be the final four in the big Triwizard tournament.

Not true. Heres the cool thing with bias opinions. There only bias if they aren't true =P There are things that factor in of course such as "Oh this person is more persistant or this person is more creative or does this better than that" but everyone pretty much knows when someone is better than they are. Rotem is a better player than I am and if there was something like a true Tri-Wizard tournament and I she was selected to represent her house or whatever, it wouldn't be biased because she is likely one of the best players in that house. Inb4 slander and lies about me liking rotem better than all of you =o

(ll respond to the rest of the ideas in this thread in a while, got homework to do)

Rotem

I like the idea of EVERYONE just competing to enter the TwT, it basically makes the event bigger and allows a lot more people to enter.

Farrah

I like the idea of sign-ups. There could be a cap, maybe, of 30 people or so who are allowed to enter total. That way the exclusivity of the event won't be lost and it would probably build up excitement for the NEXT TwT.

From those 30 people, who could be considered the Champions btw, there would be several rounds to narrow them down to a final 10 or so, and then a final Big Event to narrow down...1 winner? 4 winners?

I dunno, just something to discuss.

Rotem

If house based competition, 4 winners who'll enter the final event, if not, 3 winners because... Tri... wizard tournament.

I'd say a cap depends on whether it'd be house based or not.

If you get 27 slytherins, 1 gryffindor, 1 ravenclaw and 1 hufflepuff, cap of 30 is not legit.

Linshon

So what about a progressive elimination leading up to the event of the Tri-Wizard tournament. No cap or anything. You host events for 2 weeks leading up to the Tri-Wizard tournament and the 3 or 4 most consistent player in this events (which should be some things similar to the tri-wizard tourney and specified as TwT events) for the weeks leading up get the spots. You could also limit to one per house as well if wanted to be done that way.

Rotem

The most common problem with this type of events is getting people online at same time, let's say you have 3 winners, you need to get all 3 online at same time for the big events.

Joshyyy

there should be a champion from each house .. the players should compete in houses, maybe 4 weeks leading up to it there is a big gryff event one week, the next slyth etc.

then thats the way the four champs are chosen?

it's meant to be exclusive, maybe the winner gets something cool like a badge on their robes so people can see they're champion or something?
