So, after I've cleaned off potions, pets and guilds off the list Im wondering what's the next big feature is going to be, OWLs is the only thing I could think of that I haven't done by now.

So let's brainstorm, I'm not the HP fan here, what would you like to see?

I'll just note that I'm not interested in the naruto rips exams where you wait x hours for a GM or automated exam with some shitty paper on a table.

I can easily conjure a few built in mazes that require a mixture of HP nerd spells like a dark maze that requires lumos or a room you have to use repellium to cross mass of slow immortal monsters. Just challenges like this but I suppose that's the practical part, a few puzzles.

I can't for the life of me think of any written exam that would be fun so leggo HP fans, get your brain working, I'm counting on you.

Skystone

I think puzzles would be nice. Of course what we need to ask is what determines one person better than another in these puzzles?

Is it the amount spells they used to complete the puzzle?
The time they have remaining or time they took to complete the puzzle?
It could even be if they discovered a secret that no one else was able to inside the puzzle.

You took an assumption that I didn't that OWLs is actually a competition, start from scratch, I have no idea what should be done, how, the rewards the impact etc.

I was just thinking, they hit graduation, boom new quest. But this is precisely why I'm getting HP fans input on this.

Apeiro

I like the idea with puzzles, and it would be interesting to see in what ways you could combine several spells at once. Maybe some areas would be easier with a potion?
I don't think you should be rated on how many spells or what potions you used. But maybe have an efficiency rating on how well the task was done and how quickly.

I'll have to think some more on this.

Leo Wylder

I agree on the mazes and puzzles.  Maybe even make some where it forces players to team up and co-op in groups of 3.  As we see in HP it is Harry, Ron and Hermione and Draco, Grab and Goyle.

Not all puzzles have to be co-op.  But just an idea. 😀

Ben

I say dungeons like in Zelda games. You need to use all sorts of spells to solve the puzzles/defeat the enemies inside. If we need some sort of rating/scoring system then add little side objectives, like say 10 and you get a score of 10/10 if you complete them all before reaching the end of the maze/dungeon.

Vanchi

It would be great to have some long ass puzzle which makes you use both your spells and all your HP knowledge to the fullest. Also is might be cool if like 10 people attend 1 class OWL to make them do the puzzles together so they have to do some team work.
You need a little bit of insanity to do great things.

Rotem

What 2D game supports co-op gameplay for 10 people effectively in a small cramped maze?

I'm thinking at best to make a "challenge room" system that accepts up to 4 players each and can be used outside OWLs as well but this is just a thought and so far there's 0 input about any sort of written part to OWLs, turns out I wasn't the only one who couldn't see that happening.

Ben

There's no point in having some sort of written side, people just used Google to cheat.

Vanchi

Indeed no need for any writing part for the exam.. I used Google and then send my answers to my friends.
You need a little bit of insanity to do great things.

Rotem

Yeah they used google to cheat and failed miserably, about 3 people passed OWLs initially, then Murra had to talk me out of having expectations and allowing people below 50 to pass.

Skystone

Funny how I was a noob player and I got 3rd for OWLs.

I still have the OWL results from last two, yes you were third but only because you scored higher than others, your OWL score was 61 out've 100.

Those were the stats for last OWLs, which was easiest of the OWLs held by me beforehand:
General Statistics:
Subject:Exams Taken:Lowest Score:Highest Score:Average:
COMC2016837.05
Charms21109052.8571
Transfiguration16110067.375
DADA14118445.6429
GCOM1167443.8182
Overall:82110049.3486
Total Players: 41

This is the one before that one:
General Statistics:
Subject:Exams Taken:Lowest Score:Highest Score:Average:
COMC161310048.5625
Charms242010068.5417
Transfiguration17109068.5294
DADA24310052.75
GCOM2498843.75
Overall:105310056.4267
Total Players: 42

I also have a similar fashion table for every player. During the first OWLs, the highest score was 80 achieved by Avery, during the second it was like 63 by Pickle. Those low scores was why we simply had grades go by highest to lowest instead of dependent on passing marks.

Skystone

That makes that depressing case even more depressing.
