For starters amount of times you fall off a broom would indicate the different broom. Another idea! Perhaps there could also be some spells in which a player could mess up the person's movements on one's broom. The different brooms may negate those affects depending on which broom. I'll call the hex charms in this list.

  • Comet 290 - Fall off constantly. Will definitely get affected by hexes.
  • Cleansweep - Fall off commonly. Will most likely get affected by hexes.
  • Nimbus 2000 - Fall of rarely. Will probably not get affected by hexes
  • Nimbus 2001 - Fall off super rarely. Almost certain it will not get affected by hexes.
  • Impossible to fall off from. Impossible to be affected by hexes.

Think of other stuff guys :D!

Why don't we make it possible and implement the different speeds into TWC then? It would give a better use for the brooms rather than just seeing who has the better looking icon.

Is it possible Murra?   :-\

I've seen it in many other games, but maybe it's just not something that should ideally be put into TWC..

The problem  that you can't, by design, speed anything up. You can only slow things down by only acting on 1 movement per 0.3 seconds for example.
What this means for TWC, is that your complex duel movements go to all shit, and you have no accuracy.

It is not viable for TWC.

Joshyyy

what about having 5 different types of broom all with a different percentage of catching linked with them?

cleansweep is shit so it would have like a 40% catch rate or something?

i don't know, just giving ideas! also like a quidditch level or something, flying stat?

How about making brooms constantly moving forward, you only control the direction with movement keys but it'd constantly fly forward.

Brooms shouldn't be just undense walking, it's not the same.

I'd be okay with that.

It opens new possibilities such as crappy brooms don't turn quick or sometimes mess up.

Perhaps in future maps there'd be areas you must fly over with a broom and then a few map obstacles.
I could come up with nice 'mini games' or broom requiring mazes.
