the potion system i promised murra

its not complete but i was hoping if i posted what i have so far that members of the TwC community could post what they thought about it and post what THEY want to see in a potion system,since the system should be what the players want.keep in mind,its not complete so you may notice parts randomly cut off mid-sentence,or mention something and not come back to it


••••••••••POTION SYSTEM••••••••••••••

When you walk up to a cauldron,you get a cauldron tab.When you click on the tab,the verbs "Empty,Add,Stir,light fire,inspect,Simmer and Scoop" are on there(7 verbs)

Potion Verbs
empty- will empty the cauldron of its contents,which if you dont can mess up your potion if the last person didnt empty it(or to tell if the last user tried to sabatoge the potion)

Add- will add ingredents to the potion
•When you add an item to a potion,it will say "The potion bubbles as you throw *insert amount* units of *insert item* into the cauldron!

Stir- brings up another popup with the following options:Clockwise,Counterclockwise.Upon choosing one of these options,it brings up a menu asking how many times(you type the number of times),and then it asks if you want to stir it rapidly or slowly,and then finally,it asks if you want to stir it with the type of instrument(Wand or wood paddle)
•when you stir,a message appears saying "you stir *direction* *number of times you chose* with your *instrument*

Light fire-will give you the following options on a popup:
Extinguish,Low,medium and Hot
•Upon lighting the fire to a higher temp. than what it is currently,you get a messages saying "You light a fire with your wand."

•Upone setting the fire to a cooler temp. than what it is,you get a message saying "you cool the fire"

Inspect-Tells you the properties of the potion in its current state(i.e a correctly made love potion would say somethinglike "The potion has a mother of pearl sheen!",where as an incorrectly made potion will tell you "The potion has a thick black texture").This can also tell you if the cauldron has been emptied.(if empty,you get a message saying "The cauldron is empty.")

Simmer- brings up a menu asking how long you want the potion to set idle (no time passes ingame)

Scoop- will scoop up a potion into your container.amount of flasks you can get from a potion varies per potion.





Pluck Hair- a command called "pluck hair" appears when standing next to a player

• Pluck Hair has a 20% chance to succeed and 30 second cooldown
• If the verb succeeds, an emote that says "*player* has plucked some of *target player*'s Hair!
• If the verb fails, An emote that says "*Player* attempted to pluck *target player*'s hair,but failed!
• If used in a class,housepoints or a detention can be given.
• Pluck hair cannot be used on a teacher or staff member)
•If pluck hair succeeds,an item called *player*'s hair(player=who you plucked it from) appreas in your items

Forcefeed-You can walk up to the tile next to them and the command "Forcefeed" appears in the Commands.
•Forcefeed makes it as if the targeted player has taken the potion,and it disappears out of the owners inventory as if they drunk it(but only the player used on gets the effect of the potion)
•It has a 20% chance of working on an unbinded player
•It has a 100% chance of working on a binded player
•If it works,a message (on the users end)saying "*targeted player* gags as you force *potion* down their throat.
•if it fails,a message saying "*targeted player* Fights back as you fail to shove *potion* down their throat*
•On the targeted persons screen,if it works,they see the message "*person forcing*shoves something down your throat!
•if it fails on the targeted persons screen,it says "You fight back as *person forcing* tries to shove someting down your throat!
•on the screen of a person who is not being forcefed or is not forcefeeding sees the event and it works,the message "*forcefed person* gags as *person forcefeeding* shoves something in their throat!" appears on their screen as an action
•If they see it fail,the message :*Forcefed person* fights back as *person forcing* fails to shove something down their  throat! appears on their screen as an action
•binded player=binded by spell effect that does not let them move such as levicorpus or incarcerous


Teacher Verbs


Give Ingredents for *Insert potion name *-Gives each student in the classroom ingredients for a potion(and a demo flask)being taught(but the ingredient is named Demo *ingredent name here*)and sets the ingredents variables to being in a perfect condition for being put into the potion(ie-the demo for polyjuice would have a var for an ingredient set to having been picked at moonlight for one potion where its needed,but not if its put in another potion)
and sets the players variables to a varible that lets then know the potion being taught while being in a class only.All demo items will disappear at the end of the class,or if a player leaves class by any means.

Ingredients
Can be bought from stores,or found in the wild,Picked up from things you kill,or given by the teacher for a class demonstration(but disappear if not used in a potion if not used by end of class,if you logout,or reception out to prevent hoarders)


•Water-default ingredient on the add menu
         -when added,you get a box asking you to type a percent between 0 and 100% of the cauldron to fill with water
         -you cannot fill the cauldron with a negitive amount of water or more than 100% of water

The following ingredients required by killing a creature are a 50% drop chance unless stated otherwise
Rat tail-drop from a demon rat when you kill it
Rat blood-drop from a demon rat when you kill it
Troll Boogers-Taken from a troll when you kill it
Spider Venom-Rare drop when you kill an acromantula
Snake Venom-Gained when you get attacked by a snake 5 times
Shredded boomslang skin-dropped by a basilisk when its health is dropped by 20%(100% drop chance)
Basilisk Venom-Gained when you are killed by a basilisk
Basilisk Fang-Drop when you kill a basilisk(100% drop chance)
Pixie Eggs-Drop from a pixie when attacked
Knotgrass-Grows in select areas of grass(use the pick verb to search a bush for it)
Fluxweed-Grows in select areas of grass(use the pick verb to search a bush for it)
Lacewing Flies-dropped from a pixie you attack after killing 5 pixies
Powdered Bicorn Horn-Bought from apothecary
Piece of *insert player*-Drop from a player when killed outside of a safe zone
Hair of *insert player*-gotten from the "Pluck hair" verb

Items are sold at an apothecary,and used to create potions,sold from an npc named Hooded Man

•Advanced Potion Making:Cannot learn any potions without having one(Code as part of the beginning where you need one).
Its basically a book that has a list of potions ingame(except the gm only ones)BUT it does not tell you how to make it(Potions you learn inclass are added to the book as you learn them in-class)-Cost:500 gold



•Wood Paddle-used to stir potions-500 gold

•Crystal Vial-used to scoop up a potion-1000 gold(you can only have 5 vials at a time)

•Polyjuice Potion-1 million gold

•Simple Poison-5000 gold

•Age Potion-1000 gold

•Wigginweld Potion-1000 gold

Simple Poison-
•Ingredients needed:Water,Rat Blood(gathered in the dark forest),Snake Venom
Instructions:
-Fill the cauldron with Water
(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say "Im not dumb-this cant be right"
If correct step is made,inspect should say "The cauldron sparkles with a brilliant blue"
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say"Hmm,perhaps i should try something else)
-Set the heat to low
(murras notes:"If correct step is made,inspect should say"The water begins to heat up!"
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say"This cant be right...")

-Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
(murras notes:If correct step is made,inspect should say"The water begins to dull down"
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say
If correct step,but imperfect potion,inspect should say)


Add 1 unit of Rat Blood

(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say
If correct step is made,inspect should say
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)

Stir clockwise 5 times
(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say
If correct step is made,inspect should say
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)

Stir counter clockwise 8 times

(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say
If correct step is made,inspect should say
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)

then add 2 units of Snake Venoms.



Serving
•Fills 1 flask
Effect:
•The drinker loses 5% of their current hp every second for 5 seconds

Age potion-

Effect:sets players year to whatever you want it to be when you drink it for 5 minutes


Wiggenweld Potion-

Effect:
•Completly restores HP

Servings:
•fills 1 flask
•Each flask has 2 servings of wiggenweld potion

Murras Notes
•If used,the user sees the message "You feel invigorated as you drink a wiggenweld Potion!
•If others see the user drink it,they get the message "*drinker* has taken a wiggenweld Potion!


Metamorph potion
Ingredients Needed:
Instructions:
(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say
If correct step is made,inspect should say
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)

Effects:
•Changes an aspect of the drinkers apperance
Servings:
•fills 2 flasks
Murras Notes:
•Upon drinking,a popup asking what the player wishes to change appears.On it is listed:
Robes(if chosen,the user can change the color of robes to another houses color)
Hair(if chosen the player can change their hair color)


IQ potion
Ingredients needed:
Instructions:

If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)
Servings:
•fills 1 flask
•2 servings per flask
Effect:
•Increases one stat(attack,mp,hp,etc) by 20% for 10 minutes
Warning.
•only 1 potion can be used at a time.Nothing happens if you take another one in the 10 minutes after drinking one


Blinding Potion

•The users screem goes black for 60 seconds and can only see themselves

Disorientation Potion

The drinker of this potion loses all control of what they say!The drinkers only defense is to not say anything!

•When the person who drinks this potion attempts to use say,their sentence is replaced by one of the following(each message has an equal chance of appearing each time say is used)

-MURRAWHIP IS MY HERO
-sheeeeeen!

Ingredients needed:5 lacewing flies collected between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm,Shredded boomslang skin,Fluxweed picked between the hours of 9 pm and 6 am,powdered bicorn horn,knotgrass picked between 7 am and 12 pm,a bit of a person you want to turn into(or hair of a person)Instructions:
Fill the cauldron with 7% water
(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say"NO!i must get this right!
If correct step is made,inspect should say"I guess this is right?"
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say"Perfect!")
Add 3 lacewing flies
(murras notes:
If correct step is made,inspect should say"A dark green sheen emmits from the surface
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say"The potion turns crystal clear
If correct step,but imperfect potion,inspect should say"The surface bubbles)
simmer for 1000 minutes
(murras notes:If correct step is made,inspect should say"the potion remains unchanged"
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say"Steam begins to raise in perfect spirals"
If correct step,but imperfect potion,inspect should say"The surface turns black)

Servings:
•Fills 3 flasks
1 flask holds 3 servings
Effect:A tricky little potion,this potion takes on the appearance of any fullblooded human you wish for 10 minutes per serving!
Murras notes:
This potion changes physical appearence into the person you inserted a piece of for 10 minutes and have their name over their head,but in the action and say log,it comes up as "Imposter *Insert persons name*
If you drink more than one polyjuice potion at a time,the effects are boosted by 10 minutes
In the action log,everyone nearby sees the emote "*drinkers name* has taken a polyjuice potion!
In the action log,the drinker sees the emote "You cringe and wince as you drink a polyjuice potion!"

Felix Felicis
Ingredients needed:
Instructions:
(murras notes:If empty,inspect should say
If correct step is made,inspect should say
If incorrect step is taken,inspect should say)
Servings:
•fills 1 flask.
•Each flask has 3 servings

Effects
•The drinkers projectiles become homing and double in strength for 5 minutes
Warning:
•If you drink more than one per 5 hours,you lose 3/4 of your hp for 5 hours

Murras Notes:
In the action log,the drinker sees the emote "Your spirits rise and you feel luckier as you drink Felix Felicis!
In the action log,the people who see you drink the potion see the emote "*drinker* looks luckier as they drink Felix Felicis!

additional notes:
-if you add an item into a cauldron,it is forever gone.
-if a person creates an incorrect potion,and drinks it,they get an emote saying "You feel sick to your stomach and begin to feel the warmth leave your body!" and then they instantly die.Upon awakening,madam pomphry says "Be glad we found you when you did or we wouldnt have been able to save you!"
-If a person is forcefed an incorrect poison,they simply lose 50% of their hp and slowly regenerate it at a rate of 2% max hp per second

-If a person makes a potion correctly,but does not know how to make it or if the maker did not have their wand drawn the entire time while making it,the potion should emote "The potion had not effect!" on the users side

-if a demo potion is made in class,after drinking it,one of 2 things happens:
if it is correctly made,the student earns 2 points for their house and learns the potion,and the instructions are added to their advanced potion making book
If it is incorectly made,the student dies and loses 2 points for their house and does not learn the potion,and it is not added to their advanced potion making book
-Potion class only happens on saturday and sunday nights between 10 pm and 12 am

I agree. For this system to work, you need to put in a lot of work. It needs more details on how it functions, what it does, how it does it, etc.

Not all potions "bubble", and it won't always work the first time (You could also add how there is a chance for it to work. I mean, the potion or ingredients could have gone bad, or maybe you need to be experienced with potions.) You need to add more details. Murrawhip won't accept this.
I did not read all of this, but I already saw a few things that could be fixed, etc.
