How often have you seen a level 1 who just made their character, get killed out've the blue as soon as they left Diagon Alley?

I have seen it quite a bit by now.

I think we should have SOME protection for new players, whether it's just for their first trip to Hogwarts or until level 10 (which takes exactly 30 seconds).

Although, it should be considered that sometimes people stay level 2 for AGES.

Uhm, perhaps newbie protection until they save?

I like this idea as being killed as a new player (even if you've played in the past) does get annoying, and leads to them no longer wanting to play the game. Protection until level 10 seems like a good way, and the level 2 issue can be dealt with by also adding a timer. Perhaps an hour or two protection time. Of course during this time they wouldn't be able to kill either.

I think protection until level 5 is the best way. Why level 10?

I actually think this is a very good idea as well. It would allow them to explore and get to know their way around a bit more as well before having to worry about people killing them in hogsmeade.
